Few things beat a bowl of crispy whitebait. One of the great British and Irish pub classics done properly at home — tiny, whole fish dusted in seasoned flour and deep fried until golden and crisp. The kind of starter that disappears from the table before you've sat down.
Ours come from the cold clean waters of New Zealand, frozen at sea to lock in freshness. Whole and ready to cook straight from the freezer with no prep required whatsoever. Just dust, fry and serve with a squeeze of lemon and a good tartare sauce. Simple, satisfying and seriously good.

- Weight: Minimum 500g per pack
- Origin: New Zealand, frozen at sea
- Preparation: Whole whitebait, ready to cook from frozen
- Allergens: Fish (whitebait). Produced in a facility handling other fish and shellfish.
- Storage: Keep frozen. Once defrosted refrigerate and consume within 24 hours. Do not refreeze once thawed.
- Cooking: No need to defrost — cook straight from frozen. Toss in seasoned flour and deep fry at 180°C for 2–3 minutes until golden and crisp. Drain on kitchen paper, season immediately and serve with lemon wedges and tartare sauce. Also excellent shallow fried in a hot pan with a little oil and butter.
